The NCCTHB conducted training in the area of trafficking in human beings for employees of the "National Police" General Directorate | National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings

On May 17th, 2019, the administration of the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings (NCCTHB) organized joint with the "National Police" General Directorate of the Ministry of Interior a training for officers of the Directorate with a focus on counteracting the crime of trafficking in human beings and assistance to injured persons.

The NCCTHB conducted training in the area of trafficking in human beings for employees of the "National Police" General Directorate


On May 17th, 2019, the administration of the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings (NCCTHB) organized joint with the "National Police" General Directorate of the Ministry of Interior a training for officers of the Directorate with a focus on counteracting the crime of trafficking in human beings and assistance to injured persons.

The training was opened by Ms. Kamelia Dimitrova, secretary of the NCCTHB, and Senior Commissioner Blagorodna Makeva, Deputy Director of NPGD.

The purpose of the training was to acquaint participants with key points in trafficking in human beings as the nature of the crime - root causes, forms and new trends, differences with similar crimes; the profile of the victims and the risk groups; mechanisms of involvement and control; core "units", institutions and organizations working to prevent trafficking in human beings and protect victims; reporting; indicators for the identification of the trafficked persons for the purpose of detecting the crime; referral of victims and available services and organizations supporting and accommodating victims of trafficking.

The training was attended by about 30 employees and lecturers were Prosecutor Gergana Kyurkchiyska, Administrative Head of Oryahovo District Prosecutor's Office, Mrs. Mariyana Mladenova, Senior Expert in the Administration of the NCCTHB, representatives of the Ministry of Interior, NPGD in particular, and the Prosecutor's Office.
