THE ANTI-TRAFFIC ACADEMY FOR VOLUNTEERS TO BE CARRIED OUT IN BURGAS
The main focus will be on the safe use of the Internet in the context of the risk of involvement in trafficking in human beings.
The safe use of the Internet in the context of the risk of involvement in trafficking in human beings will be the major focus of this year's Volunteer Academy organized by the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings (NCCTHB), together with the Hanns-Seidel Foundation and the Local Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings (LCCTHB) - Burgas. 59 volunteer children from the Local Commissions in the cities of Burgas, Blagoevgrad, Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, Montana, Pazardzhik, Pleven, Plovdiv, Sliven and Rousse will participate in the Anti-Traffic Academy.
The academy will be held in hotel complex "Atlantis", Burgas, from 10th to 12th of April 2019.
The event will be opened by Dr. Loris Manuelyan, Deputy Mayor and Chairperson of the LCCTHB in Burgas, and Mrs. Kamelia Dimitrova, secretary of the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings (NCCTHB).
The Volunteers Academy provides an opportunity for young people, who mainly support Local Commissions’ Action Prevention activities, to acquire knowledge of volunteering, human trafficking and its various forms by developing teamwork and peer-education skills. This year the trainers from Safer Internet Center will focus on interactive training methods to develop skills to prevent and respond to online threats. The aim is to enable volunteers to recognize the risks in the Internet independently, to master strategies to deal with them, to know existing opportunities for help and reporting, and to pass on their knowledge to other young people.
